Park 52 Features Wine Tastings on Thursdays

Beginning this August, Sommelier Alain Njike (NoMI, Charlie Trotter's) will lead wine tastings every Thursday at 6:00pm. Participants will sip and swirl four different wines, paired with small bites, for $25. Each month, Njike will select various themes for each week. Join Smoke Daddy's managing partner, Josh Rutherford and general manager, Eric McCrory, on the patio as they demonstrate a few new grilling tricks and tips as well as how to replicate Smoke Daddy's BBQ flavor at home. Each participant will get a half-slab of baby back ribs, roasted peppers, grilled steak fries and two Coronas. The preparation of each of these dishes will be discussed and demonstrated in the class. Guests will receive a bottle of Smoke Daddy BBQ sauce to take home and raffle prizes will be awarded.

Osteria Via Stato will hold "A Summer's Eve Dinner" featuring a seasonal menu by Chef David DiGregorio and wine pairings by Candid Wines. Communal, convivial table seatings will highlight Slow Food's "come to the table" mentality. The "Summer Eve's Dinner" benefits Slow Food Chicago and kicks-off tomato season.

David Cleverdon from Kinnikinnick Farm,
a 40 acre certified organic Market Garden in Caledonia, Illinois, will speak briefly about growing tomatoes and will also sample tomatoes at different stages of peakness. Slow Food Chicago and Candid Wine's upcoming TomatoFest: BLT Series will also be discussed.
